Growing up in India, yoga was part of the culture that surrounded Anna. She started her regular practice in Hong Kong when she moved there to study law. In order to deepen her knowledge, she completed a teacher-training program from Indian Master Yogi Kamal Srinivas in 2001.

Subsequently she completed the 200-hour yoga teacher training in DC and earned a Certificate in Therapeutic Yoga for Seniors from Duke Integrative Medicine, which combines the best of modern medicine and ancient wisdom. Duke physicians, physiologists, physical therapists and psychologists covered common health conditions, yoga therapists provided teaching-skills and strategies to adjust yoga for older minds and bodies. Anna has also completed the 8-week MBSR program with Insight Meditation Community of DC and the 7-week course The Power of Awareness led by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.

She continues on the path of personal growth by consistent learning. Currently working towards her 500-hour yoga and meditation certification through Kripalu Center and the year long program: Foundations of Well-being: growing the good in your brain and your life by Rick Hanson. Anna is also participating in The Year of Living Mindfully – a 12-Month Inquiry into the Nature of Awakened Heart and Mind under the mentorship of Sudhir Jonathan Foust. This program combines practice, retreats, classes, community, inquiry and service to help deepen one's spirituality.

Anna feels privileged for the opportunity to be able to share her passion and to inspire and be inspired by others through yoga and mindfulness practices. She is fulfilled by encouraging people to exercise, to eat healthily, to be optimistic and to be more patient and compassionate towards themselves and others.
